Tour de France 2009

Welcome to the Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club,
a club where our emphasis is on all levels of riding abilities.

Besides holding daily bike rides nearly all year around, we hold several social events, and several organized trips throughout the year.

The Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club came into existence because it was felt that a bicycle club was needed in the San Antonio area that had more emphasis on all levels of riding ability.

Our rides are moderate, ranging in the 10 to 14 mph average. Most of our rides are leader led, and we try to leave no one behind. We are a very social club, and we have several picnics, parties and overnight events throughout the year. We also have weekend outings and tours.

riders of all abilities and experience levels are welcomed in our club

Thank You LBJ People for a Wonderful Barbecue
on The Pedernales on Sunday, June 6th, 2009

The Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park and Friends of LBJ hosted a Barbeque on the LBJ Ranch, acknowledging the Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club volunteers, club members, and our families, in Appreciation for making their 1st and 2nd annual LBJ 100 Bike Ride a success.

The food included Brisket, Chicken, Ribs, Sausage, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Water, Tea & Beer. The food was excellent, and the peach cobbler topped it all off.The chef was Mr. Johnny Wade, a long time employee of the Johnson Family.

We want to give a big Thank You to the Park Services for providing such a wonderful barbeque. What an experience to be part of for all of us who will remember to have been there and learning some history of past presidents.

We all had a wonderful day, and the weather could not have been any better. We estimate that about 75 people attended the event. You can see pictures of this event by pressing at this link and this link.
